When Dan Oved and Pete Fine first met in Tucson in 1978 they didn’t know yet that they had led parallel lives. They were each born in 1950, grew up in Queens, NY, moved to Manhattan to pursue music careers, and left after a few years for the irresistible pull of the southwest desert. Auspiciously, once in Tucson, their paths finally crossed. For over 40 years, Dan and Pete have played music together as a duo or as members of various bands and orchestras. Their most recent incarnation is as “Fine & DanO”.
In this duo, Dan is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist and Pete plays lead acoustic or electric guitar and sings backup. Together they play brilliant renditions of popular tunes from several genres as well as their original, inspired music. Their polished musical camaraderie is palpable and their audiences are always captivated by Fine & DanO’s performances.
